An Ordinary Man
by Paul Rusesabagina

Buy The Book

It it a great introduction to the social, political, and cultural history of Rwanda and an insightful study of human nature. It is the autobiography of Paul Rusesabagina, the hotel manager who courageously sheltered and saved the lives of over 1200 Rwandans during the 1994 genocide there. His story inspired the movie, Hotel Rwanda. Although it contains some graphic descriptions of the massacres and their aftermath, and a couple of "less than refined" expressions, it is a moving and inspiring book.      ~Betty
