instrument for freedom and for the people. Very appropriate
for our times.
Not only did I grow to
understand the crucial role of John Adams in the fight to become a
sovereign nation, but his wife Abigail has
become an all-time favorite heroine! The writings
between this great couple are abundant and I almost felt like I was
eavesdropping on this intimate correspondence. It is irresistible!
McCullough does not spare Mr.
Adams his foibles, and the man will come alive for you on the pages
of this thought provoking book. Adam in one word--unrelenting!
I did watch the HBO series
based on this book. It is well done, but I had to fast forward
one part of for sensuality. Hey, I don't remember this part in the
book?
